What good is a dumpster company that doesn’t have size options? Fortunately, Cedar Rapids Waste has plenty of options for you to choose from. Our dumpster rental service has a number of different dumpsters available for those little projects around the house and those big projects around the work site. Currently, we offer 15, 20, 30, and 40 yard dumpsters, each one of which has its own particular strengths and weaknesses. Your choice will largely depend on what and how much you are throwing out. If you are throwing out everything but the kitchen sink, then a 30 yard dumpster is probably right for you. If you are throwing out everything, including the kitchen sink, then a 40 yard dumpster will suit you just fine!

Cedar Rapids Waste Guide to Dumpster Sizes
15 Yard: A 15 yard dumpster is ideal for a number of small projects, including cleaning up the attic, garage, or basement. It is compact enough to fit easily in a driveway or tight work space, while still being big enough to handle a few bulky items, such as furniture & assorted construction debris. Each roll off can hold 1 ton of debris.
(Average Dimensions: 14’ long x 8’ wide x 4’ tall)
20 Yard: 20 yard dumpsters are great for many different cleanups. They are an ideal volume for fixing up your average residential roof, assuming a home between 2,000 and 2,500 sq. feet in size. It is also a good size for common remodeling projects, typically a single room’s worth. Kitchen remodels, basement finishes, even bathroom remodels are well served with a 20 yarder. Each unit can hold 2 tons of debris.
(Average Dimensions: 22’ long x 8’ wide x 4’ tall)
30 Yard: The penultimate dumpster in our size lineup, the 30 yard dumpster is a big bin with 3 tons of hauling capacity. This size is great for big cleanups, including those that involve the disposal of demolition debris. Big construction projects are also a good fit for this size as they are big enough to handle more than a few scoops from a backhoe.
(Average Dimensions: 22’ long x 8’ wide x 5.5’ tall)
40 Yard: The biggest dumpster you’ll find in the city; our 40 yard dumpster is the ultimate choice for any contractor or construction company that has up to 4 tons of debris to dump. Its exceptionally large size can accommodate large chunks of debris from demolitions and new construction work. If you know your site cleanup or home renovation is going to generate a large, and continuous, volume of debris, this is the dumpster to rent.
